Fedora "Live" Installation Resources


Our course textbook comes bundled with a DVD containing Fedora 15 including a large assortment of utilities and applications. This is an installation resource, but not a "Live" version of Linux that can be run from the disc. However, live spins of Fedora 15 are available for installation on bootable CD's or USB memory sticks that can then be used to boot and run a computer from a Linux installation on a CD or USB stick rather than fom the computers local disk drive. This document describes a variety of resources available to install a Live CD or USB version of Fedora 15 Linux software. These include:

WARNING: Do not attempt to install a Live version of Linux on any media that is being used for other purposes! For a Live CD, use a minimum of a blank 700MB CD-R disc. For a Live USB stick, use a bare minimum of a blank (or FAT32 formatted) 2GB stick.
